Whaley Waltz – Sat 25th June…Its deeper than you think!
June 25, 2011A race recommended by Checkers who ran this last year. Whaley Bridge is a village in the Peak District just north of Buxton and part of their village carnival is a race called the Whaley Waltz. This race is a 6 mile race on trails with a few shortish climbs which most people including me walked, it is a very scenic race on undulating trails that nobody should be scared of attempting even a roadie could do this race without breaking sweat.
After the race there was a typical village carnival with kids fair, stalls, cakes, face painting etc. An excellent day out with the kids, free to park, £1 entry to carnival for the wife, kids free, £5 for the fell race including the bath.
