SUNDAY MORNING RUN

October 24, 2011

For over two years now a group of us have met at the Lower Barn, in Rivington, every Sunday morning at 8.00 a.m. for a 10 – 15 mile run. Today we met up for a trail run to White Coppice and beyond. As usual the weather was perfect along with the scenery around the reservoirs. At this time of the year you are able to see the rich autumn colours all around you. For the first five miles I was feeling quite well in spite having a bad cold for over a week. However, I soon realised that my breathing was not regular and as a result my speed was suffering. Thankfully, the guys pulled me around although my legs never felt the thirteen miles. Mike’s friend, John, was very impressive as he hadn’t done anything over ten miles before.

A bad morning running, with great company, is always better than sleeping in.

Sunday morning 10 – 15 mile run: now there’s an idea.
Definitely better than sleeping in.
I’ll put it in my calendar for when I have enough brownie points.
