Noonstone fell race

February 28, 2010

On Saturday i travelled over to Todmorden for the 9 mile English Championship counter Noonstone fell race. 429 runners set out across the snow covered tops with 423 finishers. From a congested start we headed up the first hill then back down and up again to Stoodley Pike, there is then a section that lasts 2 miles and is like running in treacle just like going from Noon Hill to CP 8 on the Winter Hill race but for much longer and uphill, during this section it started sleeting and then snowing…..smashing.

I came 335th in 105.01  which is 5 mins faster than last year. This is a beast of a race but well worth it…..i think.
