I’ve never done this before and I went to reccy it a few weeks ago. The reccy didn’t fill me with confidence – a lorra lorra climbing and not very much runnable terrain – and I only got to Bowfell. It was a different matter with race head on though, and I really enjoyed it! I had to play follow my leader quite a bit, but it was a big field and so never got too spaced out. I’m a half decent descender, and the final descent from Pike o Blisco was a real blast.
The best way to spend a claggy wet day in the Lakes.
I’m looking forward to next year already!
