Wednesday 3rd March 2010 – Head torch run

March 4, 2010

Four of us set off from the leisure centre and headed up Gingham brow, from here it turned into an Albert mystery tour!

As soon as I can work out the route, I’ll post it!

In brief we did 6.5 miles, took in Burnt Edge, shooting hut and two lads (by a route I would never find again).

A great run though!

I have a description of the route:

UP Chorley Old  Road and left down Gingham Brow, up the hill and through Wallsuches Village. Straight on till you can take a left turn up a small path near row of cottages. Follow wall to top and cross Georges Lane. Up road past quarry and follow path to last kissing gate. Turn right and follow wall for approx 40m then angle over open moor to gate near plantation. Follow path into woods and then head upward. Down over stream and then up past house onto road. Over stile follow tracks to next stile, left past Smithills Shooting Hut. Reach next stream and head over open moor to mast road. Pick up path to The Two Lads, then down to Sportsmans Cottage. Cross over and across field to next kissing gate, down to Ormstons Farm.
